Piles, also called as ‘Hemorrhoids', is a varicose condition of the
veins in the anal region leading to pain which becomes unbearable while
passing stools. In bleeding piles or internal piles, the veins are
enlarged and inflamed, sometimes causing excessive bleeding which
results in discomfort and general weakness.
In external piles, there is an inflammation and swelling of the external veins. The patient suffering from hemorrhoids cannot sit comfortably due to itching, irritation and pain in the rectal region.

The main cause of piles is persistent constipation due to poor
dietary habits. Other causes are sedentary lifestyle, stress and
anxiety, strenuous work, obesity, pregnancy and heredity. According to a

of the population worldwide has experienced symptoms of piles sometime
in life.
