Health Benefits of Almonds (Prunus amygdalus)

Almonds (Prunus amygdalus) have 90% unsaturated fats, and are high in protein, fiber, calcium, magnesium, potassium, folic acid, vitamin B & E, and other antioxidants. Almonds help prevent osteoporosis and are known to regulate blood pressure and sugar levels. The phosphorus in almonds help buid strong bones and teeth.
It also lowers stress levels, reduce the risk of heart attacks, Alzheimer’s disease and cures chronic constipation. Regular consumption of almonds maintains the health of the skin and hair as well. Another nutritional factor that makes almonds so good for reducing body fat is their high levels of protein. Although nuts are high in fat, frequent nut eaters are thinner on average than those who almost never consume nuts.
